About
Obijuan is an internationally based, solo Bahamian hip hop Artist and half of the cloak-and-dagger recording duo languid.oceans. Born in Nassau on the island of New Providence in The Bahamas, Obi was raised in between the city and the family islands. Fully immersed in West Indian & American culture, hip hop and music in general has been a prominent influence in Obi's life since birth. Although he has been writing and recording rap music for well over a decade, Obi's music started to generate a significant buzz after his first vinyl release in 2017, following a plethora of mixtapes over the years. After constant releases and series of small tours spread out over European countries (including Austria, Germany and the UK), Obi was able to stir up a small wave with his particularly gritty, off-kilter sound. In 2019 Obi made his first official mark on the underground with 'THE KING'S WISHES'; a record produced by noteworthy New Jersey based artist, GRiMM Doza; with guest appearances from Puddle God and elusive home team wordsmith, looms. It was the first collaboration with Bad Taste and we’ve continued to work together across a range of different EPs and album projects.
